Recently R&B singer and former American Idol Winner Fantasia Barrino has been under much scrutiny in the media. Two weeks  ago she attempted to commit suicide by overdosing on aspirin and sleeping pills after finding out that the other woman in a bitter divorce she was hospitalized for three days. Honestly I don't think she was aware that she was the other woman because she was dating a man that said that he was separated and going through a divorce so with that being said she was put in a tricky situation. I have always been a fan of Fantasia and never stopped when I heard all the gossip and judgement towards her. One thing I have always admired about Fantasia is her courage to overcome any form of adversity that has been presented before her. 

Feel free to watch her Behind The Music special that premiered earlier this week to hear her side of the story and what she is doing now. I also believe this album is her best release to date since it has been four years since she has released her sophomore album. At the end of the day fame and fortune doesn't matter because certain things do not last forever an individual must be content with their life and the choices that have been made. I really want her to be able to move on from this rough patch remember she is only human and we all have our breakdown moments sooner or later in life. Her voice and talent is both rare and timeless enjoy the magic with her lead single "Bittersweet."

Nelly and Kelly Rowland are back at it again making great music together. Besides we all know their chemistry is amazing from what I hear both of them are single but anyway back to the good news. Both Nelly and Kelly plan to release their albums this Fall  in fact Kelly's album is due in October while Nelly's album is due for release in November. On Kelly's new album she has already managed to cook up some new chart topping singles "Commander" and new urban remix of the song with the Nelly you can also enjoy "Grown Ass Woman" penned by Ne-Yo and "Rose Colored Glasses." Kelly asked fans to help her find a title for new album and even let fans submit titles on her website. Ultimately she decided on naming the album Kelly Rowland her last album was titled Ms. Kelly. But she says using her first and last name fits the direction she is going in and the songs make a connection with the title as well. Kelly also has said this time around she has had alot of fun with this recording process she had worked with Akon, Tricky Stewart, and Ne-Yo as I said before. As a fan I have enjoyed her first solo best albums but I'm really optimistic about this one.While her partner in crime Nelly is also recording another song with Ms. Kelly titled "Gone" the song is supposed to be the sequel to their Grammy Award wining hit "Dilemma." I'm really excited I heard a snippet of that song on Nelly's Ustream it will be hot expect to hear that and more on his next album 5.0.

P-Dub aka Pretty Willie

I love music but I am also a fan of independent artists and skills and this guy is no different. Pretty Willie hit the scene back in 2001 with the song "Roll With Me" very reminiscent of his fellow St. Louis rapper native Nelly. In fact he has been compared to Nelly both of them are from St. Louis, very good looking, former stellar athletes, they sing just as well as they rap. One my favorite songs by Pretty Willie is "Lay Your Body Down" it was heard in the film Johnson Family Vacation.

What you didn't know about him:
Born Willie Monroe Jr. he realized that music was his passion early in life so he performed at many talent shows and local juke joints with his father. By the age of 12 he and formed his own rap group  Baby Gangstaz. They landed a deal with French Jamz and released an album called "E-Z Goin Gangsta". This also brought him local success.

By 1997 he became a Missouri State Champion in the 100 meter dash that accomplishment landed a full track scholarship at  the University of Mississippi he earned a degree in psychology while he was there he also became a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. which also helped him become a very prominent college athlete.

Willie has a wonderful voice and he is easy on the eyes here a song hear it for yourself through You Tube or his music pages.

The video that you see is a new track from Ameire I like her new album much better than previous releases. She is a highly attractive woman with a great voice but bad promotion and the fact the only songs on her albums are the radio singles which means the albums usually only have a few good songs but this time around I think she got it right.

Ring the Alarm

Power is something all of us want right? Do the right people in this world obtain Power? Can one individual have too much power? What is power? Power is defined as the ability or official capacity to exercise control; authority. Also it is defined as A person, group, or nation having great influence or control over others.

A couple of months ago I gushed about my love for Kanye West and his triumphant comeback performance at the BET Awards but I also urged people to listen to his new song Power. I said the lyrics spoke much volumes simply because you have to know something about Kanye West he is outspoken, rebellious, but also highly intelligent. He always leaves the music industry surprised with jaw dropping statements, sold out concerts, excellent album sales, you name it. Let's just say the video is no different if you haven't seen it yet go to Kanye West's website or some other source from the Internet. Already on Youtube I observed many comments and thoughts as well interpretations to the song and the concept behind the video. One person said  The only thing I could see that people could possible link was the Horus chain and pyramid ring he wore. The whole video is about being in power. The sword of damocles above his head symbolisies the threat that being in power has to oneself. The women come from with power but one of them was out to kill him from above.
 

The video is somewhat reminiscent to Micheal Angelo's "Sistine Chapel" well that it what I thought when I saw the clip it looked that depiction to me. It is captivating and intriguing but already judgement and negative thoughts have been shed on this video. This week Emniem also premiered his new video and people are saying it is better than Kanye's. I disagree no disrespect to Slim Shady but I'm a bigger fan of Kanye. Some people say it  is a depiction of the Free Mason and Illuminati ever since recent video has surfaced on the Internet entitled "The Blood Sacrifice." Which I have seen and that is all I will say.

Honestly I think many different meanings and messages are in the song as well as the video. I think an individual has to have an Appreciation for Art, History, and Theology to be able to rationalize all of this. Well according to Kanye the new album is no loner entitled "Good Ass Job" the title has been changed to "Dark Twisted Fantasy" and is slated for release on October 12.

Lyrics from Jay-Z and Alicia Keys from the 2009 anthem "Empire State of Mind" both artists hail from the Empire State and are Yankees Fans. I am not from the Big Apple although I am Yankees fan myself and I was glad to see front man A-Rod reach a career milestone. Wednesday in Yankee Stadium A-Rod became the youngest player in the MLB history to hit his 600th career home run.

 

 

 

So let's the paint the picture the crowd is going crazy as usual they cheer him on and in a matter of moments the impossible became possible. A-Rod  hit a two-run straightaway in the center field in his first inning of a game against Shaun Marcum of the Toronto Blue Jays. So it became a 2-0 pitch over the middle of the plate with his his team mate Derek Jeter on first  and two out. He raised a hand slightly in triumph as he rounded first base, then completed his home run trot. Roc boys in the building  ha ha no seriously A-Rod is now a member of Elite Club baseball among the likes of Barry Bonds, Henry Aaron, Willie Mays, Babe Ruth, Ken Griffey Jr., and Sammy Sosa. Hopefully A-Rod continue to give us his all or another championship stay tuned I'm sure he keep us Yankees Fans on our feet.

Lyrics sang by songstress in Alicia Key's from her 2004 hit song "If I Ain't got You" okay so let's fast forward about six years later A.Keys is pregnant and recently wed her boo music producer Swizz Beatz. Alicia and Swizz Beatz took part in a union and had their unborn child blessed in a Zulu ceremony in Llovo which is a suburb in South Africa. They also held a wedding celebration on the French Island of Corsica on July 31, 2010. But they must have a civil ceremony in order for their marriage to be legal in the U.S.

What a difference a year makes Clifford "T.I." Joseph Harris known to his family and friends as T.I.P. A year ago he was rapping to a different tune while walking  a road to redemption many adversities fueled the inspiration behind his incredible album Paper Trail. The loss of his childhood best friend, loss of his daughter, and those gun charges but he bounced back a new album on the way, new movie Takers, etc. One thing that kept all of us wondering was when was he going to turn in his player's card and he did on July 30, 2010 by marrying his long time girlfriend "Tameka "Tiny" Cottle formerly of the group Xscape. The couple married in Miami Beach, Florida.

He shoots and he scores! All is fair in love and basketball I love that movie excuse my shameless plug. Ladies this not a drill the one and only Carmelo "Melo' Anthony is officially off the market. Carmelo Anthony superstar of the Denver Nuggets has been in a relationship with Vee Jay La La Velasquez for sometime now the couple became engaged in '04 their son Kiyan Carmelo Anthony was born in '07. Anthony and La La were married by Michael Eric Dyson on July 10, 2010 at Cipriani's in New York City with 320 guests such as Justin Timberlake, Kim Kardashian, Khole Kardashion-Odom, Lamar Odom, Kelly Rowland, Lebron James, La La's cousin Ludacris and Anthony's team mate Kenyon Martin just to name a few. Chelsea Clinton has recently been married as well no disrespect but I'm a bigger fan of Black love.
