Favorite Thanksgiving Films

Thanksgiving is an annual holiday in America where we celerbrate by coming together with our famalies and eat large meals of food. Well I can only speak for myself and say that I do not eat that much because I really do not want all of that to go to my thighs. Anyway each year I have certain television specials and movies that I love to watch with my family. So here are top favortite movies to watch on Thanksgiving Day.

Now naturally this would be the number 1 movie on the list. It has all of the elements of a Thanksgiving Day fights, love, comdey, hurt, etc. Oh yeah and did I mention that the soundtrack was off the chain damn I miss the 90's music.

I did not grow up in the Civil Rights Era but my parents did but it is safe to say that I am an old soul at heart. The film was released in 1975 but the film took place in 1964. Four friends that are pulling pranks and living their lives as high school students on the South side of Chicago. One of my favortie sceens in the film is when Preach and his friends cut class for two periods, go to the zoo and gorilla throws poop on their shirts, they eventually go back class but smelling like gorilla shit eww. This film also had a bad ass soundtrack all of the songs are from the early years of Motown Records aka Hitsville U.S.A.

Ease on down, ease on down the road! Now you know I could not complete this countdown without putting 'The Wiz" on here. Released by Berry Gordy in the 1970s it did not do well at the box office but still became a cult classic among African-American audiences. The film begins with Dorothy and her family at Thanksgiving dinner and it is always shown on Thanksgiving Day. A close friend of mine said he saw the movie was terrible now I'm not trying to be mean but he is Hispanic sweetie its a Black thing when it comes to this movie. Great music and all star cast Nipsey Russell, Lena Horne, Diana Ross, Micheal Jackson, Luther Vandross towards the end.

I love the Jackson Family and their music but for me they are one of my biggest inspirations. They came from humble beginnings and became the first family of pop and soul music without them the Osmonds would not have someone to try and imitate. That is right I said it. I do not give a damn about what the media says because I know how to understand the truth and analyze stories. Joe Jackson is and was the best manager period and he was a great father and Katherine knew her part. How many men do you know will marry a woman and take care of 9 kids with her? Exactly some men will not even take care of one child.

 Okay ladies and gentlemen I have been busy college life can be a gift and a curse. I am in the process of editing and writing up new topics and issues. But I feel as though I need to drop the spoiler alert so what you guys can expect next is my thoughts and knowledge on the book Stop Being Niggardly ( the word means stop being stingy), meaning behind the words bitch, faggot, and nigger, more insight on the loss of interest in HBCU's, and interracial dating. I am playing with ideas and conducting extensive research.

Ten years ago in the fourth grade St. Louis rapper came into the music industry with different a swagger and party anthems his first anthem was Country Grammar originally called "Hot Shit". I remember me and my friends were so excited to see him on television and in magazines he was so cute. He had a St. Louis accent and a nice body. Whenever I was feeling down or needed a song to cheer me up I would listen to Nelly's music and wanted to party. Nelly's first two albums Country Grammar and Nellyville pushed him into super stardom.

Recently Nelly just celebrated another birthday, a huge comeback on the charts after lack luster reception from his last album Brass Knuckles even though it spawned two hits Party People feat. Fergie and Body on Me feat. Akon and then girlfriend Ashanti. Nelly's new album 5.0 is in stores now and he is recording music with his close friend Kelly Rowland once again. He has already appeared on her Commander Remix and she is lending her vocals to their song "Gone" it is supposed to be the sequel to their 2002 smash hit Dilemma.

I am a huge fan of music and that includes throwback music and of my favorite New Jack Swing artist is former heartthrob Al B. Sure. He is best known for his hits Night and Day and Off On Your Own Girl and many other slow ballads. He has dated many women and made adorable children but his son Quincy is a spitten image. When you look at Quincy it looks like Al B made this boy all by himself. This is the only man that can have a unibrow and still be oh so sexy in my eyes.

What You Did Not Know? Born Albert Joseph Brown III in Boston, MA and raised in Mount Vernon, NY. He was a star quarterback at Mount Vernon High School in New York, who rejected an athletic scholarship to the University of Iowa in order to pursue his career in music. He was nominated for numerous Grammy Awards and AMA's. My Thoughts: Christian Keyes is so fine and they broke the mold when they made him. I wish could come across men that looked that here on my college campus.

Steph Jones is an indie artist but has made an impact in the modeling world before making the transition into music. I wrote about him this summer and I am shedding love and light on him once again. In his new song "Beautiful" he is telling everyone no matter what color, shape, size, gender, or sexual orientation. It  always refreshing to see an artist that is talented but also friendly in  the video Steph casted Black, White, Asian, and Hispanic, women, but he also casted gays and transgender I believe. The song has a cool club or drive around on a Friday night vibe to it. So enjoy.

Many famous men African-American men in paticular have come forth and admitted they were victims of pedophilia activity these men include the following Tyler Perry, CNN New Anchor Don Lemon, and former B2K member Demario Thorton also known as Raz B. Honestly I think Bishop Eddie Long is guilty and Chris Stokes did do something to Demario Thorton and now that he claims Marques Houston was involved I would not be suprised.  The images you see below of Queen Latifah and Mary J. Many African-Americans don't want to believe that pedophilia is both very common and unfortunate in our community. I also feel as though this is part of the reason why homosexuality has become so prevelant in men these days and I will admit it scares me. I plan on having children one day and I would never want someone to sexual abuse them whether its my son or my daughter. When it comes to finding a boyfriend or husband I get frustrated knowing that I'm thinking in the back of my mind could  he secretly be gay or was he molested as a child all sorts things come about. I know that I am not the only woman that thinks about this.

What is Pedophilia?
Pedophilia is a paraphilia that involves an abnormal interest in children.
Pedophilia is also a psychosexual disorder in which the fantasy or actual act of engaging in sexual activity with prepubertal children is the preferred or exclusive means of achieving sexual excitement and gratification. It may be directed toward children of the same sex or children of the other sex. Some pedophiles are attracted to both boys and girls. Some are attracted only to children, while others are attracted to adults as well as to children.

A pedophile is often very attractive to the children who are potential victims. Potential pedophiles may volunteer their services to athletic teams, Scout troops, or religious or civic organizations that serve youth. In some cases, pedophiles who are attracted to children within their extended family may offer to baby-sit for their relatives. They often have good interpersonal skills with children and can easily gain the children's trust.


 



Some pedophiles offer rationalizations or excuses that enable them to avoid assuming responsibility for their actions. They may blame the children for being too attractive or sexually provocative. They may also maintain that they are "teaching" the child about "the facts of life" or "love"; this rationalization is frequently offered by pedophiles who have molested children related to them. All these rationalizations may be found in pornography with pedophilic themes.


My Thoughts: This shit is very disturbing and makes me want to vomit I hate people that do this and try to justify this type of behavior. I have no love or respect for any man or woman that could do these things to another human being especially a child. Some of my peers that are homosexual men have told me that after being molested it made them question their sexuality and that is what turned them on to men.




For example members of 1980's singing group Debarge watched their father beat on their mother but he also molested his own children. He later apologized but the damage was already they have struggled with drug addiction since their youth trying to cope and forget.

This is a problem that is not going to be solved any time soon unfortunately but we can do this is make people more aware and try to prevent more children from being harmed. People say that growing is hard to but no child should have to endure this. Parents make sure you talk to your kids for their own safety remember that communication is key. Young women are more likely to tell someone that they have been abused young men especially young black men are more likely to keep it a secret keep in mind  Don Lemon did not tell his mother that he was sexually abused until he was 30 years old.

Tyler Perry is releasing a film adaption of the stage play For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow is Enough. Originally released in 1975 the play was written by Ntozake Shange.






The synopsis is structurally, For Colored Girls is a series of 20 poems, collectively called a "choreopoem." It is performed by a cast of seven women characters , each of whom is known only by a color: "Lady in Yellow," "Lady in Purple" etc.  The poems deal with love, abandonment, rape, and abortion, embodied by each woman's story. Lady in Blue's visceral account of a woman who chooses to have an abortion, and Lady  in Red's tale of domestic violence.

The cast includes Janet Jackson, Kerry Washington, Macy Gray, Loretta Devine,  Kimberly Elise,  Anika Noni Rose, etc. Go see the movie on November 5th.

Kanye West - Runaway (Full-length Film)

My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.......... The Real Kanye Has Returned

It's over no more electronic sound from Kanye West this new album is simply his best since his debut in 2004 with The College Dropout. Within the past year Kanye West has pissed more people off and made many apologies. Also dealing with rumours about being apart of Illuminati. His new album is now called My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy and I feel as though it is about time. He has gone back to strict beats and rhyme and  sampling music. It will be released on November 22 and spawned two singles and controversial videos "Power feat. Dwele" and "Runaway feat. Pusha T."

Production on the album will come from Kanye West himself, Q-Tip, DJ Premier, RZA, Pete Rock, and Swizz Beats just to name a few. Guests artist include the following Alicia Keys, Jay-Z, Drake, Beyonce', Common, John Legend, Pusha T, Dwele, and many others let's just say you will not be disappointed. 

Kanye West revealed through Twitter that My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy had been rejected by certain stores because of the cover art.The artwork (a portrait by George Condo) shows West being straddled by an armless winged female (a phoenix). Both characters are depicted nude, and one nipple of the phoenix's breasts and her buttocks are visible. The painting is centered on a red background with a thin yellow border. The artwork follows along the apparent theme. A second cover, with a painting of a ballerina by Condo of the album, as well as West's music film "Runaway".It was intended to be the original artwork for "Runaway," but West used a photograph of a ballerina instead.
