Too Close for Comfort

Well I'm young and single so I'm living that life. But is it wrong to have single friends when one is a relationship? Recently I watched  an episode of La La's Full Court Wedding La La had lunch with Tyrese Gibson a close friend of hers. He asked her several questions like Are you a wife? Are you ready to be a wife? He began to tell her that she has too many single friends and said she didn't have to get rid of her friends. He went on to say that I have been married I know. Okay I admit I love Tyrese but I disagree with him because he was married for only a year or less than that. Most of La La's single friends are women like Ciara, Kim Kardashian, Kelly Rowland, just to name a few.

One of my friends answered this question for me and he said it is okay to have your single friends because they keeep you sane. I have another friend that has a habit of overstepping boundaries which means he steps into my love life. It is all about mainting a balance you can't always have your cake and eat it to as cliche as they may sound there some truth to that.

A married woman or man might need to revaluate their inner circle or normal routine when they "I do". I will say that because when an individual becomes married this is their priorites God, Spouse, Children, Immediate Family, and Friends.

The Rose That Grew From The Concrete

"Should we cry when the pope dies, my request we should cry if they cried when we buried Malcolm X?" Tupac Shakur these are words of rebellion as well as wisdom. He was and still remains the Greatest Rapper of All Time sorry Kanye, Jay-Z and Wayne but those guys don't hold a candle to this man. In my personal opinion he was the Malcolm X of rap music he was complex like most human beings but that is what him made so special. I was born in the 90's so I grew up on his music and lifestyle. Originally born as Lesane Parrish Crooks in East Harlem section of Manhattan New York his parents were members of The Black Panther Party in fact he was born one month after his mother's acquittal on more than 150 charges of "Conspiracy against the United States government and New York landmarks" in the New York Panther 21 court case. But he his stage name we know as Tupac Shakur well Amaur comes his mother's name anyway this name comes from a a Peruvian revolutionary who led an indigenous uprising against Spain and was subsequently executed.

Need less to say he endured many struggles throughout his life I mean he saw alot in those 25 years. He met Shock G and The Digital Underground Crew and became a dancer for this amazing rap group. He got his first taste of exposure on their hit "Same Song." While of this occurred he learned his mother had become addicted to crack he also had many run ins with the law many of this incidents were unjustly in my opinion. You see Tupac had book knowledge and Black militant knowledge so he was very honest and outspoken but that is what we loved about him. One woman that stole his heart and I know she still loves him even in death Jada-Pinkett Smith.Tupac made a cameo appearance on the show A Different World  Jada portrayed the sassy college student Lena James  in one paticular episode he portrayed Piccolo Lena's ex-boyfriend that came down to Hillman for a visit and steal her away from her current boyfriend.

He had party anthems such as "California Love," "I Get Around," "Ambitions As A Rider," then a more sensitive side was showcased on "Brenda's Got A Baby," and "Keep Your Head Up." Some say he was America's worst nightmare I think he was another gift to the world of music and life in general. I love you and I miss you homie.

The Road Home Continues

Earlier this summer I expressed my thoughts on Chris Brown's stellar performance as he paid tribute to his musical idol the late Micheal Jackson. He sang and dance to classic hits such as "The Way You Make Me Feel", "Remember the Time", "Billie Jean", but he broke down in tears to a song that made him face his demons and realize that Micheal is gone and that song was "Man In the Mirror." Honestly I think Chris is changing his ways in fact Chris made a recent court appearance for his community service and the judge said that Chris is doing a great job. So far Chris has completed 290 hours of service and has continued to receive positive reviews from his domestic violence counselors.

Another accomplishment that has come Chris's way is he now has a #1 single again "Deuces" this is the first time in four years since he has a #1 single. His last album Graffiti spawned hits such as "I Can Transform Ya" and "Crawl" but failed to reach commercial success from previous singles. Chris also has the Number One movie in the country under his belt "Takers" his co-stars include T.I., Idris Alba, Paul Walker, Micheal Ealy, just to name a few go see it I heard it is great and jam packed with action. By the way Chris is working on a new album and basically wasn't able to go on tour with Usher due to his restricted to rights to travel.

I read other blogs and comments on the Internet and Chris is still being condemned his actions the unfortunate mistake he last year when he attacked then girlfriend Rihanna. I feel as though he has been bashed and embarrassed enough what happened between is their business they just so happened to be famous. I thought it was foolish on society's part to act is this was the first act of violence towards a woman it has been going on for years and also not analyze the whole situation. Domestic violence isn't just a man against a woman it could be the other way around. I hope Chris continues to do well and move on with his life.

The Last Time

OMG! I remember when I was six years old and Destiny's Child had hit the music scene back in '97. It was clear that they drew inspiration from En Vogue, The Supremes, and TLC but they had their own "flavor" oh wow snapping back to 90's slang.The group always seemed to have a theme and it was female empowerment with songs such as No, No, No, Part 2 (their first hit), Bills, Bills, Bills, Bug A Boo, and Say My Name just to name a few. I fell in love with it even though I was too young to understand. Destiny's Child had a good run from 1997-2005 earning the title Greatest Female Group of All Time at the World Music Awards and Beyonce' had created her own lane and sets the bar high as hell.

Go shorty go! Let's party like it's your birthday oh because it is. Much love to Sasha Fierce aka Beyonce' she is hitting a huge milestone yesterday was her birthday and she is now 29. Yes the end of the roaring 20's a time that is usually oh so fun in a woman's life. Needless to say her journey has never presented a dull moment as the world has watched her begin her career as a young teenage country girl from Texas yet in a matter of time she transformed into a mature world class superstar. She has beauty, style, class, and ass hey she said it but one can't disagree.

Beyonce' is loved by many and hated by many but takes it all in stride that's what I love and admire. It is always great to see an individual passionate about a childhood dream that becomes a reality. So what's next for Beyonce'? Well she has many awards and achievements and a husband so time will tell. But  I have read in magazine articles and seen interview footage on the Internet saying she is working on a new album but wants to retire at the age of 30 so we will have to see. No matter what happens I will continue to love her and respect for she is and what she has done. FYI for those who don't know she is actually a very caring person who loves her family and fans so get off her jock with the hateful comments. A friend of mine dislikes and that is fine his argument is he knows she will do well at whatever comes her way. Umm yeah dude when you work hard and have been trained at a young age I expect nothing less. She is the Micheal Jordan of music.
